Our Journey to NYC Continues
Eastern Shore Repertory Theatre’s Select Travel Company is an elite group of student performers (Grades 3–12) chosen by audition to represent ESRT on a national stage. This year, our company will make history, performing the pilot production of DreamWorks Theatricals’ How to Train Your Dragon JR. at the legendary Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park on October 7, 2025 at 1pm.
This special partnership with Music Theatre International gives our young artists the rare opportunity to debut a brand-new show before its public release, a distinction that places ESRT alongside some of the most innovative youth theatre companies in the country.

In addition to the Central Park performance, our team will train with Broadway professionals, experience world-class productions, and immerse themselves in the cultural heartbeat of New York City. It’s a transformative week that blends artistry, education, and adventure—creating memories and connections that will last a lifetime.

Our 2025 Select Travel Team represents ESRT’s highest standard of dedication, talent, and teamwork. These students have earned their place through rigorous auditions and now carry the honor of bringing this groundbreaking production to life in front of a live New York audience.
This will mark our third year performing in Central Park, a tradition that began with Godspell JR. in 2021 (celebrating the musical’s 50th anniversary) and continued with Newsies JR. in 2022. Each production has elevated our company’s artistry and reputation, and How to Train Your Dragon JR. promises to be our most visually imaginative and inspiring performance yet.
